The NYSGA Scholarship Fund

The NYSGA Scholarship award covers up to four (4) years of undergraduate study or for study at an accredited trade school. After the initial award, students submit bi-annual reports (transcripts and class schedules) showing they are continuing their education.



Eligibility

A candidate must (1) demonstrate financial need and (2) be working their second season "in service to golf" at a club that (3) issues the USGA Handicap Index® via the NYSGA.

"Service to golf" includes working in the golf shop, bag room, golf course maintenance, or in food and beverage operations.

How to Apply

1. Complete the online application (click here) by Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
2. Candidates selected to be interviewed will be sent a link to upload supporting documents described below.

e. Letter of support from club supervisor

Mission and History

The mission of the NYSGAF Scholarship Fund is to award scholarships to employees of NYSGA member clubs with demonstrated financial need. Over $500,000 has been awarded to students from NYS since the Scholarship Fund's inception in 1967.
