BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo District Golf Association is pleased to complete another successful season of competitive golf in Western New York.

The 2024 Season saw a new face capture the BDGA Men's Player of the Year Award, as Ryan Edholm of Pendleton Creek GC claimed the POY title. Edholm's standout season included victories at the BDGA Match Play Championship and Erie County Amateur Championship, as well as runner-up finishes at the BDGA Individual Championship and Porter Cup. Edholm had previously been named the 2021 BDGA Junior Player of the Year.

Andy Bernatovicz of River Oaks GC earned the BDGA Senior Player of the Year Award. Bernatovicz's impressive 2024 season included capturing the BDGA Senior Championship, runner-up finishes in the BDGA Senior Match Play Championship and BDGA Mid-Amateur Championship, and Low Senior honors at the BDGA Individual Championship. 

The BDGA Junior Player of the Year was awarded to Cole Jones of East Aurora CC. Jones' victory at the BDGA Junior Stroke Play Championship and runner-up finish at the BDGA Junior Match Play Championship propelled him to the top of the BDGA Junior Points List. Jones' placement on the Junior Points List throughout the season earned him the opportunity to represent the BDGA at the 2024 Williamson Cup, which was hosted by Golf Association of Philadelphia at Rehoboth Beach Country Club.  

Michael Jordan of Crag Burn GC earned the Boys' 14U Player of the Year Award. Jordan won the BDGA Boys' 14U Match Play Championship and finished runner-up in the BDGA Boys' 14U Stroke Play Championship to earn the player of the year honors.
