The two-time defending champions started off strong with birdies on holes 3 and 4 part of a first-nine 32. Only Paul Kudela and Marc DeGiulio (both of Niagara Falls CC) went equally low on the out.
Cullen and Lefebre stayed solid on the back-nine as they were the only group to finish without a bogey. An eagle on 14 put them well ahead as they parred the last four holes to finish with a 64.
Tyler Edholm and Joseph Torrillo (each from Pendleton Creek Golf Club) ended up in second place going 5-under. The pair from Cazenovia Golf Club, Matt Messing and Dan Sadowski finished tied for third as they also eagled the 14th hole. The father-son duo Michael Carrig and Michael Carrig (both members of Springville Country Club) also tied for third shooting four-under. Another Niagara Falls CC pair, Jeff Janese and Matt Scalfani rounded out the top five. They were one of three groups at three-under and claimed the fifth spot with three birdies in the last six holes.
In the senior division (50+) PJ Alterio and Jim Berrigan (both of Niagara Falls CC) shot 67 going bogey-free with three birdies in the back nine. Even with Chistopher and Terry Miller (each NYSA eClub, Western NY members) shooting 67, Alterio and Berrigan won first place for second straight year due to a match of scorecards.
