Bufffalo District golfers take two interdistrict titles

GENEVA, NY - Geneva Country Club hosted the annual Interdistrict Junior Championship today - a competition that features teams of Junior boys (ages 15 to 18) and Sub Junior boys (ages 12 to 14) from the Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo District Golf Associations.

In an 18-hole stroke play competition, the low five of six scores in the Junior competition and the low three of five scores in the Sub Junior competition counted towards each team's total score. The low individual medalist in each of the Junior and Sub junior divisions were also recognized.

The Buffalo District swept both the team and individual competitions this year, including the Junior Division team title with a 382 score. Rochester finished three shots back in second place with a 385, while Syracuse finished third at 401.

In the Sub Junior Division, Buffalo claimed the team title with a score of 400. Syracuse Sub Juniors finished second with a 410 total, followed by Rochester in third place with a 414.

The winning individual medalist from the Junior Division was Anthony Delasanti from the Buffalo District, who posted a 2-under-par 69. Rochester's Tyler McDonnell was second with a score of even-par 71.

Two players tied for medalist honors in the Sub Junior Division, including Buffalo's Ryan Edholm and Syracuse's Punn Chittaratlert. Both players posted scores of 3-over-par 74.The RDGA wishes to thank PGA Head Professional John Rossi, as well as his staff and the Geneva Country Club membership for their hospitality in hosting this event.
