Brady sisters, Lee and Finn named BDGA Jr Match Play Champions
Four champions were crowned at Sheridan Park GC in the most recent rendition of the BDGA Junior Match Play Championship.

In the Boys’ 18U final, Braeden Lee defeated top seed, and last year’s runnerup Caleb Occhino. In Lee’s journey to the final, he beat Ari Daum 6 & 4, 3-seed Dylan Brooks 4 & 3, and Connor Jackson 5 & 4 in the semifinal.
Lee started matchplay as the 11th seed after finishing qualifying at six-over, seven shots behind Occhino. Three of the four victories Lee picked up were against better seeded opponents. It marked Lee’s second BDGA win of the summer as he claimed the Erie County Boys' 18U Junior Amateur five days earlier.
In the Girls’ 18U tournament, Claire Brady brought home another victory by taking down Tatiana Tutko on the 13th hole. Brady was last year’s 14U champion and won the 18U in her first try. Last year, she advanced to the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals.
Brady was the top seed in her event. She defeated Miranda Proctor 10 & 8, and Eliana Wierzbowski 4 & 2 in the semifinal. Brady additionally was named medalist for her round of one-over in qualifying. The event was Brady’s third BDGA win in the last two years.
In the Boys’ 14U division Jameson Finn took down Hudson Prynn in the finale. Jameson was the top seed heading into match play after shooting five-over in qualifying. He had a bye during the quarterfinals and showed no rust by beating Kyle Kush 9 & 8 in the semifinal. The win over Prynn marked the first BDGA win for Finn.
In the Girls’ 14U division, Elise Brady, younger sister of Claire, beat Avery Ley in the final in 16 holes. Brady shot four-over in the nine-hole qualifying round to earn the top seed. The win means that for the third consecutive year, the Girls’ 14U Matchplay trophy belongs to the Brady household.
