2024 Junior Girls' Entry Fees Covered By Fermoile-McAvoy Fund
BUFFALO , N.Y. -- On June 7, 2023, Diane Fermoile-McAvoy’s life came to a tragic end. A member at Willowbrook Golf Club in Lockport, Diane was an avid golfer. In 2022, at the age of 68, Diane posted the 4th most rounds of women in New York State, walking all of them.
Diane had many interests such as marathon running, tennis, and cross-country skiing, but had a special passion for golf. After her passing, ladies and staff at Willowbrook began raising money to be put toward a cause to remember Diane and her incredible spirit.
It was determined that the money raised be used to pay entry fees for young girls wishing to play in Buffalo District Golf Association tournaments.
The BDGA would like to thank all those who contributed to this cause, and look forward to seeing Diane’s spirit live on through the young women who benefit from this donation.
