Three Qualify for 2019 U.S. Mid-Am at Lancaster
LANCASTER, N.Y. – Sectional qualifying for the 39th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship was conducted by the New York State Golf Association at Lancaster Country Club on Friday.
Fifty-eight players, (ages 25+) competed for three qualifying spots into this year’s championship at Colorado Golf Club, with CommonGround Golf Course as the USGA championship’s co-host, September 14-19, 2019.

New Jersey’s Michael Brown, along with Canadian players Andrew Dagneau and Dave Bunker shared medalist honors at 4-under 68.
Three Buffalo-area players finished at 69, and went to a playoff for the two alternate positions including brothers Andrew and Thomas Romano, as well as three-time NYSGA champion (Sub-Junior in 2000, NYS Four-Ball co-champ in 2015, 2018) Billy Hanes.
Andrew Romano took 1st alternate and Hanes will be 2nd alternate.
The course setup at 6,610 yards and a par of 72.
