Three Buffalo-Area Players Qualify for 40th U.S. Mid-Am at Crag Burn
EAST AURORA, N.Y. -- Sectional qualifying for the 2021 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship was conducted by the New York State Golf Association on Monday at Crag Burn Golf Club.
Sixty-four players competed for three qualifying places and two alternate positions into this year's championship, scheduled for September 25-30 at Sankaty Head Golf Club in Siasconset, Mass.

Silver Creek's Jamie Miller fired five-under 67 at his home club to earn qualifying medalist honors. He collected six birdies and an eagle during the round to punch his ticket to the USGA championship. He last qualified in 2018 out of CC of Buffalo, where he was also the medalist.
Another Crag Burn member, Patrick Nealon of Orchard Park also posted in red numbers, finishing at two-under 70 to advance into this year's USGA Championship.
Three players tied at even-par 72, and played off on the 467-yard par-4 tenth hole to determine the final qualifying position.
Kenmore's Colin Burns won the playoff with a par to secure the the third spot.
First alternate will be Shane Dobesh of Rochester after making bogey on the playoff hole. Second alternate will be Andrew Romano of Puerto Rico.
The course setup to 7,148 yards and played to a par of 72.
