Tee & Misiti hold two-stroke lead in opening round of NYS Men's Four-Ball
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- James Tee & Alex Misiti collaborated on an impressive 7-under 65 to hold a two-stroke lead over the field after the first round of the 2017 NYS Men’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship. The duo from Shelridge Country Club birdied their starting hole, the par-5 18th, and proceeded to knock down four additional birdies as well as an eagle during the opening round.

Not far behind sits three teams who all registered 5-under 67’s including Patrick Nealon of Wanakah CC & Michael Boyczuk of Crag Burn GC, Lancelot Hope of Schenectady Muni & NYSGA eClub member Joseph Fitzsimmons, and Jimmy Welch of Olde Kinderhook GC & David Pallas of Saratoga Spa GC.
Defending champion Jeff Wolniewicz and his partner Jonathan Clark, both from Crag Burn GC, are tied for fifth with a 4-under 68.
In the Senior Division, three teams sit tied atop the leaderboard at 4-under 68. Duos Tim Harnett of Crag Burn GC & Fred Gigliotti of River Oaks GC, John Miosi & Michael Grace of Brookfield CC and Bill Paulsen of Orchard Creek GC & Jim Mueller of Eagle Crest GC only hold a one-stroke lead over four other pairings who carded 3-under 69’s.
Fifteen teams finished under par and twelve sit within 3 strokes of the lead groups including the 2015 champions, Steve Nosonowitz and Stew Blake of McCann Golf Course at 1-under 71.
