Swedick Goes Back to Back in NYSPHSAA Girls Golf Championship
REXFORD, N.Y. -- The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) 2023 Girls Golf State Championship ended in a composed victory for junior Kennedy Swedick of The Albany Academies on June 5 at The Edison Club in Rexford.

Swedick, the 2022 NYS Women’s Amateur Champion, shot the two tournament low rounds of 2-under 70 after round one and a second round score of 3-under 69 to finish her championship at 139.
Swedick finished seven strokes ahead of Emma Lee, of Scarsdale School, who came in second at 2-over 146 (73-73). Emma beat out 12-year-old Hayden Knapp, who placed in third at 4-over 148 (74-74).
Renna Chang, a sophomore at Jericho High School, carded 6-over 150 (75-75) to finish in fourth. Alison Kahn, teammate of Swedick, finished at 7-over 151 (76-75). 2021 NYS Girls Junior champion Julia Zigrossi, a junior at Our Lady of Mercy, and Sofia Nogalo carded 8-over 152 (78-74)
Players qualified for state championships via sectional qualifying.
