(PEBBLE BEACH, Calif.) – Youth on Course – the non-profit organization providing young people with access to opportunities through subsidized golf, college scholarships, paid internships and a caddie program – announces its partnership with the New York State Golf Association (NYSGA) to expand affordable rounds of golf and life-changing opportunities to juniors in the state.

Young people ages 6-18 in New York will be able to join the Youth on Course national network and access golf for $5 or less per round at 1,400 facilities across 39 states. The initial cohort of NYSGA courses offering $5 or less rounds include Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course, Cazenovia Country Club, Chautauqua Golf Club - Hill Course, Chautauqua Golf Club - Lake Course, College Golf Course at Delhi, Lyndon Golf Course, Rome Country Club and Sunset Ridge Golf Club, with additional facilities joining soon.

“The New York State Golf Association is dedicated to promoting worthy junior golf initiatives that will leave a positive impact on our local communities,” says Kara Cushman, foundation manager of the New York State Golf Association. “Youth on Course membership offers junior golfers access to local facilities at a very affordable rate, and helps them develop long lasting relationships within New York’s golf community."

Youth on Course has already been widely successful in New York. Launching a partnership with the Metropolitan Golf Association in 2018, the program’s results speak for themselves. From two junior golfers the inaugural year, New York now boasts 899 members who have played 1,624 rounds between the metro area and Rochester District Golf Association. The program has also reimbursed more than $15,000 back to participating courses in the state. The broad interest has led the way for the expansion into the NYSGA. 

“With six new partnerships already this year, YOC continues to make great strides to expand our impact across North America,” says Michael Lowe, Vice President of Programs for Youth on Course. “This partnership with the NYSGA will further our reach and our core purpose of helping junior golfers find success and new opportunities on and off the course.”

Since 2006, Youth on Course members have completed close to a million rounds while the organization has helped generate over $6.8 million in tee-time revenue back to individual golf courses. In addition to subsidizing youth golf rounds, Youth on Course also facilitates college scholarships, paid internships and a caddie program. Since the inception of the scholarship program in 2008, they have awarded 262 students with scholarships totaling close to $2 million in financial support. The current scholarship retention rate is ninety-three percent.
