
NYSGA Accepts 364 Entries Into 41st NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship
JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – The New York State Golf Association has accepted 364 entries for the 41st New York State Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, to be hosted at Country Club of Troy, Troy, N.Y. Sept. 26 - 28, 2025.

Eligible players must hold a Handicap Index at or below 8.4 and must be a member of the NYSGA, defined as 1) belonging to an NYSGA member club or 2) joining the NYSGA as a 2025 NYSGA eClub Member. Also players must be 25 years old as of September 26, 2025.
Sectional qualifying, to be played over 18 holes, will be conducted at 9 sites around the state from August 25 to September 8 at the following venues:

Long Island | Smithtown Landing | Fri, Sept 5 (44 players / 8 spots)

All non-exempt players must qualify to earn a spot in the Championship. Once entries close, the number of qualifying spots available per qualifying site (minimum of 2) will be posted and emailed to players with additional information pertaining to their qualifying site. Ties (max of 4) for the last qualifying spot advance. If there are more than 4 ties, the last qualifying spot will be determined using the USGA method of matching scorecards.
No playoffs will be conducted during sectional qualifying. All players tied for the final allocated spot at a given qualifier will advance to the championship.
EXEMPT PLAYERS
Players in the following categories are exempt into this year's Championship. The NYSGA reserves the right to revise any of the exemption categories.
- E1. Winners of the NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship from the last 20 years.
- E2. From the 2024 NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship, the 20 lowest scorers and anyone tied for 20th place.
- E3. Winners of the NYS Men's Amateur Championship from the last 10 years.
- E4. From the 2025 NYS Men's Amateur Championship, any player in the low 40 & ties.
- E5. Winners of the 2025 NYS Men's Amateur Four-Ball Championships.
- E6. From the 2025 NYS Men's Senior Amateur Championship, the 5 lowest scorers and ties.
- E7. Winner of the 2025 NYS Men's Super Senior Amateur Championship.
- E8. Most recent (as of September 26, 2025) winner or low amateur (*professional events) of the following regional championships:
- E9. All actively ranked golfers in WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings) as of September 29, 2025
