Downstate Pros in PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park
SAN FRANCISCO, C.A. – Four club professionals out of New York State competed in this year’s PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, Ca., the first major championship of 2020.
The group included Danny Balin of Fresh Meadows Country Club, Alex Beach of Westchester Country Club, Jason Caron of Mill River Club and Rob Labritz of GlenArbor. Each of these players also competed in last year’s championship at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.

These players all represented the “Team of 20” PGA Club Professionals that competed in the PGA Championship. Since the 2020 PGA Professional Championship was canceled due to COVID-19, the top 20 on the 2019 PGA Player of the Year list were eligible for the PGA Championship.
Beach finished as Low Club Professional with a 4-over 144 over two days at Harding Park, and missed the cut by three shots.
Labritz finished at 147, Caron at 148, and Balin at 150.
This was the seventh PGA Championship appearance for both Balin and Labritz. It was the second consecutive appearance for both Beach and Caron.
