Cleland & Feldman Qualify for 61st U.S. Senior Women's Amateur
MARCELLUS, N.Y. -- Two New York State players advanced into the 61st U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship.
The New York State Golf Association held sectional qualifying at Tuscarora Golf Club in Marcellus, N.Y. on Wednesday. A field of eleven players competed for two qualifying places and two alternate places into this year's championship at Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Teresa Cleland of Syracuse, was the qualifying medalist for a third straight year at the Tuscarora sectional qualifier.
Cleland, who plays out of Bellevue Country Club, finished at 2-over 73. She will be making her 12th appearance in the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur (2009-14, 2016-17, 2019, 2021-2023). She is also a seven-time New York State champion with three women's mid-amateurs, two women's senior amateurs, and two women's senior amateur four-ball titles. Recently, she finished as the NYS Women's Mid-Am co-runner-up and T3 at the NYS Women's Senior.
Karen Feldman of Claverack earned the second qualifying spot with 5-over 77 at the Seymour Dunn layout. The Columbia Golf & Country Club member is coming off a recent NYS Women's Super Senior Amateur victory in Lake Placid earlier this month (she also won a NYS Women's Senior Four-Ball title in 2021).
First Alternate was Carolyn Mancini of Endicott, and Second Alternate was Lee Ann Lewis from West Gilgo Beach.
The U.S. Senior Women's Amateur will take place from September 30 - October 5.
