The New York City player finished as the medalist at 2-under 68 with the course playing at 6,454 yards. He started and ended the day with a bogey but was able to keep his composure and scored five birdies on his round. He was a stroke better than Connor Kiel of Fairport, who shot a 1-under to qualify.

Tyler Berkman of Potsdam, Owen Corby of Pittsford, and Ty Kaufman of Naples, Florida finished tied at even par and went into a playoff to decide the third qualifying spot, along with the two alternate positions.

On the fourth playoff hole, Berkman had a tremendous second shot into the par-5 to have a putt for eagle and clinch the final spot. Berkman drained his 8-footer and secured an invitation to this year's USGA championship in Charleston.

Corby hammered a huge drive down the fairway on the same hole, No. 4, but came up short on his approach and was unable to match Berkman's eagle. He is the first alternate.

Kaufman had hit a great shot into the third playoff hole, but a three-putt bogey would knock him out of contention to earn second alternate.

Daniel Island Club in Charleston, South Carolina will host this year’s national tournament from July 24-29.
