2017 NYSGA Amateur Series Schedule Released
NYSGA tournament registration will open Wednesday, February 15th at 9:00AM. Along with the full championship schedule, highlighted by the NYS Men’s Amateur hosted by Bethpage Black, the 2017 NYSGA Amateur Series regular season schedule has also been finalized and will feature 37 events at 30 different courses around New York State. The 2017 Amateur Series schedule will feature first time series venues, such as Cobblestone Creek CC, Penfield CC, and Bristol Harbour GC in Rochester, East Aurora CC and Springville CC in Buffalo, Leatherstocking GC and Lake Shore Yacht & CC in Central NY, and a double shotgun event at the site of the 2016 NYS Men’s Amateur Championship, Mohawk GC, in the Albany area.
The 2017 season kicks off May 1st with a two-day swing at Turning Stone Resort & Casino, which includes a return visit to the newly redesigned Shenendoah Golf Club. The 2017 schedule will also feature seven double shotgun events at some of the most popular Amateur Series venues.
As in years past, players will earn points towards the 2017 NYSGA Amateur Series Championship based on their net finish within their flight. The players with the most points by season’s end will earn invitations to the Championship, hosted by Shenendoah Golf Club on Friday, September 29th.

The NYSGA Team Amateur Series
The NYSGA is pleased to announce the addition of the NYSGA Team Amateur Series Tournaments for the 2017 season. These events will be played as a two-person, best-ball tournaments (also known as four-ball), where players compete as a two-member team and score the best ball of the two players on a given hole. Players can sign up as teams of two men, two women, mixed, or as individuals to be paired up by the NYSGA. Elevenvenues across the state will make up the 2017 Team Amateur Series Schedule. The 2017 NYSGA Team Championship will be held at Turning Stone’s Kaluhyat GC on Saturday, September 30th. Teams can earn entry into the championship field by winning their flight group in any NYSGA Team Amateur Series Event.

Registration for 2017 Amateur Series events will open in three waves. Registration for the first wave opens Wednesday, February 15th at 9:00AM, the second wave opens Friday, April 28th at 9:00AM, and the final wave will open Wednesday, June 28 at 9:00AM.
The eligibility requirements are the same for these team tournaments, requiring both players to be members of the NYSGA, either through membership of an NYSGA member club or individually through an NYSGA eClub, and an active and up-to-date Handicap Index.
