The 102nd edition of the NYSGA’s flagship tournament, the NYS Men’s Amateur Championship, will be contested at Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, July 8-10. The venerable Walter Travis design has hosted six previous Men’s Amateur titles in 1946, 1953, 1958, 1968, 1988 & 2007. The course also held the Men’s Mid-Amateur in 1998 and 2017, and four NYS Women’s Amateur championships in 1932, 1950, 1977 and 2018. Established in 1897, the historic Utica area club was the NYSGA’s founding site in 1923.

The 95th NYS Women’s Amateur & 16th Mid-Amateur Championships will be hosted by Long Island’s St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Setauket, July 14-15. This will be the first time the classic Devereux Emmet club will open its doors to a NYSGA championship. The 1917 masterpiece has hosted various Metropolitan and Long Island Golf Association Championships over the years, including most recently the 2022 Met Junior and 2024 Long Island Amateur.

The 83rd NYS Boys’ & 62nd Girls’ Junior 18U Amateur Championships will be hosted by McGregor Links Country Club in Wilton, July 1-2. The 12th NYS Amateur & Senior Amateur Mixed Team Championships will be hosted by Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton on August 12.  The Colgate University course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in the late 1950’s, has hosted its share of NYS championships in the past including two Men’s Amateurs in 1993 and 2001, the Women’s Amateur in 1983, Girls’ Juniors in 1967, 1975, and 1988, and the Boys’ Junior & Sub-Junior in 1971 and 1978 (before the three junior championships were combined in 1998).
