Swedick Cruises to Victory in NYSPHSAA Girls Golf Championship
WILTON, N.Y.- The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) 2022 Girls Golf State Championship ended in a runaway victory for sophomore Kennedy Swedick of The Albany Academies on June 6 at McGregor Links Country Club.

Swedick shot the tournament low round of even-par 72 in round one and matched her score in round two to finish at even-par 144 on the tournament.
Swedick finished four strokes ahead of eighth-grader Nina Choe, of Ursuline School, who came in second at 4-over 148 (73-75). Choe beat out her classmate at Ursuline School junior Sofia Nogalo, who placed in third at 6-over 150 (74-76).
2021 NYS Girls’ Junior champion Julia Zigrossi, a junior at Our Lady of Mercy, carded 7-over 156 (78-73) to finish in fourth. Freshman Renna Chang (Jericho High School) and eighth-grader Lia Huang Huang (Great Neck) tied for fifth place at 12-over 156.
Players qualified for state championships via sectional qualifying.
