Spampinato and Minnehan Medal at 11th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Qualifying

HAMBURG, NY -- Sectional qualifying for the 2026 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship was conducted by the New York State Golf Association (NYSGA) at Wanakah Country Club on Friday, September 12.

Forty sides (80 players) competed for two qualifying places and two alternate positions into next year's championship, which will be hosted by Desert Mountain Club in Arizona.

The Rochester area duo of Aiden Spampinato and Philip Minnehan medaled at 10-under 62, collecting ten birdies and no bogeys on the William Watson design. Spampinato captured the 2024 NYS Men’s Amateur Championship at Wanakah, and they are both top players in the Rochester District Golf Association.

Simon McInnis and Phil Arci of Canada secured the second spot at 9-under 63. They birdied the final hole to punch their ticket, and had ten total during the round.

Michael Donner and David Hanes from the Buffalo area secured First Alternate, finishing at 8-under. Tom Mandel (New Hartford native) and Chris Yustin (Buffalo) earned Second Alternate, finishing at 7-under.

The course setup at 7,035 yards and played to a par of 72.
