
Shoemaker Makes Fourth Appearance at Augusta National Women's Amateur
AUGUSTA, G.A. – Bailey Shoemaker is the lone representative from New York State to receive an invitation to compete in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA). The prestigious event is set to take place April 2-5, 2025, at the legendary major championship venue.
The West Edmeston native will make her fourth consecutive appearance in the sixth edition of the tournament. The 20-year-old, a three-time New York State Girls’ Junior champion (2017-19), has lived in Dade City, Florida, for several years when not away at school. Now in her sophomore season at the University of Southern California, she currently holds the 45th spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

After missing the 36-hole cut in her first two ANWA appearances (2022-23), Shoemaker delivered a breakthrough performance in 2024, leaving her mark at Augusta National and captivating golf fans across the country!
During the final round of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, she surged up the leaderboard with a historic bogey-free 66—the lowest final-round score in tournament history. Shoemaker briefly held the outright lead after a clutch birdie on the par-3 16th, but ultimately finished runner-up as England’s Lottie Woad (Florida State University) birdied her final two holes to secure a one-stroke victory.
The inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur was held in 2019. It was established to inspire greater interest and participation in the women’s game by creating a new, exciting and rewarding pathway for these players to fulfill their dreams.
The international field of 72 women amateurs will compete over 54 holes of stroke play.
The first 36 holes will be contested over two days on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga., April 2 and 3, 2025. The entire field will then play Augusta National for an official practice round Friday, April 4. The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 5 and will feature the top 30 competitors who made the cut.
The Golf Channel will broadcast the first and second rounds from Champions Retreat Golf Club. NBC Sports will produce and broadcast three hours of live final round coverage at Augusta National from 12pm – 3pm EDT on April 5. Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" will commence on Friday, April 4 at Augusta National to provide coverage of the Augusta National Women's Amateur, the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals and the Masters Tournament.
