Seven NYS Players in Field at 36th U.S. Women's Mid-Am at Stonewall

ELVERSON, PA. -- Seven players residing in New York State are in the field at the 36th U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship at Stonewall Link's North Course in Pennsylvania.

A starting field of 132 players will begin stroke play on Saturday, September 9 and continue through Sunday, September 10. After 36 holes, the field will be reduced to the low 64 socrers heading into the first day of match play on Monday, September 11. The championship will conclude with an 18-hole final on Thursday, September 14.

One of the competitors is a nine-time NYSGA champion, Christy Schultz of Rochester. Out of the nine titles, she's claimed four mid-amateur crowns with her latest coming in 2022. She qualified for this year's championship after earning co-medalist honors at Kirtland CC in Ohio in August. She competed in last year's national event as well.

NYC's Talia Campbell, Aliea Clark and Ina Kim-Schaad were all exempt into this year's championship after recent success in the USGA championship. Campbell (2019) and Clark (2021, 2022) are recent runner-ups, while Kim-Schaad captured the 2019 title over Cambell in a 3-and-two victory at Forest Highlands in Arizona.

Pendleton Bogache, of NYC, qualified out of Spring Brook CC in New Jersey with a 5-over 75.

Amy Ding, of NYC, was the medalist after shooting 74 in the Spring Brook CC qualfier in New Jersey.

Ellen Oswald, of NYC, also qualified out of Spring Brook CC and shot 76 to earn a spot into the championship.

Stonewall's North Course will setup at 5,920 yards and a par of 71 for the championship.
