Rome's Pennie Carlo One of Two to Qualify for U.S. Senior Women's Am at Tuscarora
MARCELLUS, N.Y. – Sectional qualifying for the 57th U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship was conducted by the New York State Golf Association at Tuscarora Golf Club on Tuesday morning.

Ten senior women (age 50+) competed for two qualifying spots into this year’s championship at Orchid Island Golf & Beach Club in Vero Beach, Florida on October 6-11, 2018.
Rome resident Pennie Carlo of Crestwood Golf Club earned a spot after posting a 7-over 79 to share medalist honors with Scottsdale, Arizona’s Edwina McKay.
Pat Mayne of Western Turnpike Golf Club posted a 79 as well but was knocked out in a 3-for-2 playoff, after making double-bogey on #6 (second playoff hole). She earned the first alternate spot.
Teresa Cleland of Bellevue Country Club took the second alternate spot.
The course was setup at 5,708 yards to a par of 72.
