Ricard Prevails in a Playoff, Moves Onto U.S. Senior Women’s Am
Suzanne Ricard punched her ticket to the 64th U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur. Ricard beat out Wendi Christensen in a playoff at Tuscarora Golf Club on Wednesday.

Ricard found birdies on the fifth hole, par 5, and on the 11th, a par 4. A double-bogey on the 14th hole put her at six-over with four holes left, but she managed four more pars to shoot 78.
Christensen, on the other hand, got off to a poor start with three consecutive bogeys. She rallied after the turn to birdie the tenth hole, a par 4, and the 12th, another par 4. Christensen was five-over going into the 18th hole, a par 3, but bogeyed it to get to six-over and to find herself in a playoff.
Ricard ended up winning the first playoff hole with a par, and with that, she’ll move on to the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.
Christensen finished at first alternate. 10-time NYS champion Kim Kaul finished at nine-over, good enough for second alternate.
The 64th U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur will be held at Portland Golf Club in Oregon from Sept. 26 - Oct. 1.
