PREVIEW: 2026 NYS Amateur Mixed Team Championships
ALBANY, N.Y. – The 13th NYS Amateur and Senior Amateur Mixed Team Championships will head to Shaker Ridge Country Club on Monday, August 3.
Fifty-two sides (104 players) will be split into two separate fields, with 26 mixed teams competing in the Senior Amateur field (men 55+ and women 50+) and 26 competing in the Amateur bracket.
There will be winners for the low gross and net scores in each field. A shotgun start is scheduled for noon on Monday.

Format: 18 holes of modified Chapman stroke play (gross and net). Characterized by each partner hitting a tee shot and then playing their partner’s ball for the second shot. Once the second shot has been played, the partners select the ball they wish to use for scoring and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. On par-3s, the decision of which ball to play alternately must be made after the tee shot.

Originally designed by Jim Thompson in 1929 and remodeled by Stephen Kay and Doug Smith, Shaker Ridge Country Club is located in the heart of the Capital District in Albany, NY. The 18-hole parkland-style course was built on property that formerly served as the home of the North Family of Shakers for generations.
Shaker Ridge has previously hosted the 1950 and 1951 PGA Empire State Open as well as the original Ellis Hospital “Skins Game” in 1993 with notable PGA players like John Daly, Lee Trevino, Fuzzy Zoeller, Joey Sindalar, Scott Hoch and Arnold Palmer.
