PREVIEW: 2025 NYS Amateur & Senior Amateur Mixed Team Championships
HAMILTON, N.Y. – The 12th NYS Amateur and Senior Amateur Mixed Team Championships will head to Seven Oaks Golf Club on Tuesday, August 12.
Fifty-two sides (104 players) will be split into two separate fields, with 30 mixed teams competing in the Senior Amateur field (men 55+ and women 50+) and 22 competing in the Amateur bracket.
There will be winners for the low gross and net scores in each field. A shotgun start is scheduled for noon on Tuesday.

Format: 18 holes of modified Chapman stroke play (gross and net). Characterized by each partner hitting a tee shot and then playing their partner’s ball for the second shot. Once the second shot has been played, the partners select the ball they wish to use for scoring and play that ball alternately to complete the hole. On par-3s, the decision of which ball to play alternately must be made after the tee shot.

About Seven Oaks Golf Club
Named for the ancestral home of the Colgate family, Seven Oaks Golf Club is nestled on the Colgate University Campus at the upper end of the Chenango Valley, in Hamilton, New York. In 1934, a young architect named Robert Trent Jones was brought to Hamilton to begin designing the course. Unfortunately, due to the great depression and WWII, the course and his plans were continuously postponed.
Jones was called back many times to redesign the course before a final version was accepted. It was not until 1956 that ground was broken on the first nine holes, officially opening on July 4, 1958. Construction for the remainder of the course soon began, and on September 4, 1965, the last nine holes were opened for play.
