About Schuyler Meadows Club

As one of the premier golf clubs in New York’s capital region, Schuyler Meadows boasts a magnificent design by the preeminent course architect Devereux Emmet.

Albany architect, J. Worthington Palmer used the central portion of George Washington's home at Mount Vernon as a model for his design of the Clubhouse.

The 18 hole golf course was completed in 1927. During his career, Emmet designed over 150 golf courses throughout the world. Some of the more notable courses he designed include Congressional Country Club, Garden City Golf Club, St George’s Golf and Country Club, Wee Burn Country Club and Leatherstocking. In 2002, Hanse Golf Course Design was retained and the firm prepared a long-range plan to modernize the golf course and restore the 18 holes to the original Devereux Emmet design.

Schuyler Meadows has been a strong steward for the NYSGA in recent years, hosting the NYS Men’s Amateur in 2013 and 2021, as well as the NYS Women’s Amateur three times, most recently in 2017 (which also included the concurrent Mid-Amateur championship) as well as in 1976 and 1955. The club hosted its first state championship, the NYS Boys’ Junior Amateur in 1938.
