NYSGA Accepts 579 Entries For 103rd NYS Men's Amateur Championship

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – The New York State Golf Association has accepted 579 entries for the 103rd New York State Men’s Amateur Championship, to be hosted at Glen Falls Country Club, Queensbury, N.Y. July 7 - 9, 2026.

Eligible players must hold an active Handicap Index at or below 6.0 and must be a member of the NYSGA, defined as 1) belonging to an NYSGA member club or 2) joining the NYSGA as a 2026 NYSGA eClub Member.

The winner of this year's NYS Men’s Amateur will earn an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship, scheduled for Aug. 10-16 at Merion Golf Club (East Course), Ardmore, Pa. Each of the top-3 finishers (plus ties) will be fully exempt from local qualifying for the following year (2027).

Sectional qualifying, to be played over 18 holes, will be conducted at 9 sites around the state from June 10 to July 5 at the following venues:

June 10 – Yahnundasis GC (Utica) – 33 players / 5 spots

June 11 – Bethpage Red (Long-Island) – 72 players / 11 spots

June 11 – Philip J. Rotella GC (Mid-Hudson) – 67 players / 10 spots

June 15 – Mendon GC (Rochester) – 52 players / 8 spots

June 17 – Lakeshore Y&CC (Syracuse) – 56 players / 8 spots

June 22 – Colonie G&CC (Albany) – 111 players / 17 spots

June 22 – Lancaster CC (Buffalo) – 62 players / 9 spots

June 25 – Binghamton CC (Binghamton) – 41 players / 6 spots

July 5 – Hiland Park CC (Last Chance Qualifier) – 54 players / 4 spots*

* There is likely to be more than 4 spots available at the Last Chance Qualifier, which will be determined closer to the qualifier date.

No playoffs will be conducted during sectional qualifying. All players tied for the final allocated spot at a given qualifier will advance to the championship.
