NYSGA Accepts 405 Entries for the Men’s Mid-Am at Country Club of Buffalo

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – The New York State Golf Association has accepted 405 entries for the 42nd New York State Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, to be hosted at Country Club of Buffalo, Williamsville, N.Y. October 5 - 7, 2026.

The championship is open to male amateur golfers who are recognized as active NYSGA members. To compete, golfers must be 25 years of age as of October 5, 2026. Golfers must keep an active, up-to-date USGA handicap issued through their NYSGA member club, with a maximum handicap of 8.4.

Sectional qualifying, to be played over 18 holes, will be conducted at eight sites around the state from September 2 to 18 at the following venues:

September 2 – Links at Greystone (Rochester) – 30 players / 5 spots
September 3 – Powelton Club (Mid-Hudson) – 48 players / 9 spots
September 8 – Colonie G&CC (Albany) – 58 players / 11 spots
September 9 – Pendleton Creek GC (Buffalo) – 108 players / 20 spots
September 14 – Yahnundasis GC (Utica) – 24 players / 4 spots
September 17 – Rock Hill GC (Long Island) – 30 players / 5 spots
September 18 – Tuscarora GC (Syracuse) – 31 players / 5 spots

There will also be a Last Chance Qualifier. Site and date to be announced later. 

No playoffs will be conducted during sectional qualifying. Players tied for the final allocated spot at a given qualifier will advance to the championship. *
