Moore's Monthly: Our 100th Anniversary
A monthly column from the NYSGA’s Executive Director, Bill Moore
On November 4th, the NYSGA held our Annual Meeting at Onondaga G&CC with an added bonus - a dinner to celebrate our 100th Anniversary. We were so pleased to have our staff, committee, close friends, and even a handful of past champions in attendance to help us celebrate.
These kinds of events don’t come together on their own, and I would like to thank our Anniversary Committee - John Blain, Doug Vergith, and Pete Dougherty, for their work. These three individuals really embraced the importance of preserving our history and please take a look at our 100th Anniversary booklet on our website if you haven’t already. The photos alone are worth it.
I would also like to thank Dottie Pepper, 1981 NYSGA Women’s and Girls’ Champion (among other victories) for being our featured speaker, sharing some stories, and bringing a touch of class to the proceedings.
Finally, I would like to thank our staff liaison and Dinner Master of Ceremonies - Dan Thompson, for all his work. Dan has a lot on his plate with Marketing and Partnerships but this year graciously accepted the responsibility of celebrating our anniversary and did a wonderful job. For those of you that haven’t seen the video Dan directed and edited - please click here.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving holiday.
