Jack Margaros Rejoins NYSGA As Manager of Media

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. -- The New York State Golf Association (NYSGA) is pleased to announce Jack Margaros as its Manager of Media, effective immediately. 

In this new role, Margaros is responsible for contributing to the NYSGA’s communications and media for state championships, qualifiers, member events, the NYSGA Foundation and supported regional associations.

This includes overseeing all communications and marketing efforts, such as championship coverage, website and social media management, email marketing and content creation, related to the Buffalo District Golf Association, Syracuse District Golf Association, Capital Region Golf Association and Triple Cities Golf Association. 

“We’re thrilled to continue driving forward our investment in our communications and marketing efforts with the addition of Jack,” said Dan Thompson, Director of Marketing & Partnerships. “His unique industry experience and wide-ranging skill set align with our vision and aspirations for the future. Our team is happy to have him back in New York.”

Margaros, who is a former USGA P.J. Boatwright, Jr intern with the NYSGA, will also support their communications and marketing program. Specifically, he will manage and nurture media relationships, enhance championship coverage and provide consistent content that showcases the Association’s Foundation initiatives, Amateur Series and partnerships. 

“I’m extremely excited to return to a familiar place and further evolve my career in the golf industry,” said Margaros. “I look forward to engaging, embracing and enhancing the vibrant golf community New York State has to offer through impactful and purposeful communications.”

Previously, Margaros worked for the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) as its Communications Manager, where he led the organization’s championship coverage strategy, managed its social media accounts and newsletters and supported various SCGA Junior Golf Foundation initiatives, advocacy efforts and the production of FORE Magazine. 

Before the SCGA, Margaros gained valuable experience with the NYSGA as its Communications Intern in 2021. He also graduated from Springfield College in 2021, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Sports Journalism.
