Four NYS Teams Compete at 62nd Williamson Cup
The Metropolitan Golf Association hosted the 62nd Williamson Cup earlier this week at Knickerbocker Country Club.

Four New York State allied golf associations sent teams to compete, including the Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA), Syracuse District Golf Association (SDGA), Buffalo District Golf Association (BDGA), and Rochester District Golf Association (RDGA).
The Williamson Cup is a junior event, where nine state and regional golf associations from across the Northeast and Canada face off in a 36-hole stroke play format. Each association is represented by four junior players, with the best three scores from each round counting towards the team's overall score.
The event was established in 1964, by A. Fred Williamson in memory of his father, a longtime member of the USGA Executive Committee and one of the original founders of Winged Foot Golf Club.
The MGA finished in third place with a score of one-over. Their team consisted of Zach Berger, Callahan Fay, Josh Yan and Ethan Yao. Yao was the group’s top performer at two-under.
The BDGA finished T4 at six-over. Their team included Dylan Brooks, Connor Jackson, Ryan Kelly, and Braeden Lee. Brooks was the group’s best finisher at even-par with a final round of 69.
The RDGA finished seventh at 14-over. Their team consisted of Tyler Burchett, Brady Clifford, Sam Eichas, and Liam McArdle. Burchett had the best performance at even-par.
The SDGA finished eighth at 32-over. Their team included David Ahn, Patrick O’Connor, Brayden Thomas, and Dan Young. Young was the group’s top finisher at six-over.
Ethan Yao of the MGA was the state’s top performer placing T3 with rounds of 70 and 72.
Maryland State Golf Association (MSGA) was the winning team, finishing at 9-under. The top individual finisher was MSGA’s David Kim at three-under 141.
