Five Advance Through 2022 U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Shaker Ridge CC
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Local qualifying for the 122nd U.S. Open Championship was conducted by the New York State Golf Association at Shaker Ridge Country Club on Monday.
Eighty-one players competed for five qualifying places and two alternate positions into the sectional qualifying stage of this year's championship, which will be hosted at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., June 16-19.

Jason Thresher of West Suffield, Connecticut was the qualifying medalist, finishing with an impressive 4-under 67 that included an eagle and five birdies.
Scott Berliner of Lake Luzerne and Matt Campbell of Rome each posted 1-under 70 to secure their invitations.
Rounding out the qualifying group was Brandon Lacasse of Canada and amateur Bryan Adkinson of Boston, Mass. They both posted 71s.
The first alternate is Matthew Belizze of Ossining. The second alternate is Matt Shubley of Canada.
The golf course setup at 6,837 yards and played to a par of 71.
