Miller’s contributions and commitment to the sport as both a teaching and touring professional allowed her to crack Hall of Fame status. She was selected for the honor alongside Marvol Barnard, a lifelong teaching professional from Arizona.

Miller’s golf journey took off at the University of Miami, where she walked onto the Hurricanes’ Women’s Golf squad. She would later earn a scholarship, be selected as team captain and play an instrumental role in the Hurricanes’ back-to-back AIAW National Championships in 1977 and 1978.

It was in the summer of 1978, when Miller won the New York State Women’s Amateur Championship at Teugega Country Club.

Miller went on to play on the LPGA for three years and competed in five U.S. Women’s Opens. She would later compete successfully on the Legend’s Tour, finishing second on the money list in 2005.

She became an LPGA Professionals Member in 1983 and has spent much of the last 40 years passionately teaching golfers of all levels. She is recognized as a Top 50 Elite Teacher in the World. Miller also helps run the LPGA *USGA Girls Golf Program of Buffalo and is the League Director of the Under Armour Junior Tour of Buffalo.

Miller has garnered an impressive list of awards and accolades through her years as an instructor. Most notably, she was awarded the Nancy Lopez Golf Achievement Award in 2021. The honor is awarded to an LPGA Professional who closely embodies the characteristics valued by Lopez - leadership, passion, giving and approachability. She has also been recognized as the LPGA National Teacher of the Year in 2010 as well as the LPGA Northeast Section Teacher of the Year on four occasions (‘01, ‘05, ‘07, ‘10). She was inducted into both the Greater Buffalo and Chautauqua County Sports Hall of Fames.

The Miller family has developed quite a legacy in American golf, both at the National and State level.

Miller’s husband Allen had a successful college career at Georgie and was ranked as the #2 amateur in the country in 1969 and 1970. After competing on two Walker Cup teams, Miller played 15 years on the PGA Tour, with 18 top 10 finishes. He won the 1974 Tallahassee Open and finished T15 at the 1979 Masters Tournament.

Allen and Cindy’s son, Jamie, has had a successful amateur career in his own right. Jamie is a four-time NYS Champion, having won two state Mid-Amateur titles (2014 and 2018), as well as a Men’s Four-Ball and Mixed Team title. He has also qualified for numerous USGA events and will be making an appearance at this year’s U.S. Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Kinloch Golf Club. Miller currently serves as the 47th President of the New York State Golf Association.
